Reigniting the Passion for Podcasting: A Conversation with Tammy

We sat down with Tammy Munson, CEO of Wildfire Creative, to talk about her new podcast, Christian Podcasting Secrets, which launches on August 7th. Tammy shares her journey back to her passion for podcasting, the inspiration behind her latest show, and what listeners can expect from it.

Q: So, tell us why you returned with another podcast.

Tammy: I love podcasting. When I ended the CC podcast, I knew something big was headed my way. The Lord told me it was time to rest. I had no idea what was coming and what its impact would be on my family, but most importantly, on my relationship with the Lord. After walking through that wilderness, I missed podcasting so much and knew I needed to bring it back.

Q: What are the differences between Creative Cast and Christian Podcasting Secrets?

Tammy: They’re similar in many ways, but CPS will have more biblical content. After much prayer and reflection, I decided to niche down a bit more. Creative Cast was more general, but Christian Podcasting Secrets is deeply rooted in faith, focusing on integrating biblical principles into podcasting.

Q: How long have you been involved in podcasting?

Tammy Munson: I first heard about it in 2005 and thought it was fantastic. In 2007, I attended my first podcast event, Podcamp NYC, with Chris Brogan (the Mayor of Podcasting) and Gary Vaynerchuk (back then known as the wine guy). I learned all I could and planned to start a podcast about being an Army wife. Although I never did, I gained much more valuable skills—creating a podcast and editing audio.

Q: Tell us about your passion for podcasters and helping them spread their message like wildfire.

Tammy Munson: Back in 2019, while at my friend Alli Worthington’s event (Blissdom), I was experiencing a sort of identity crisis. My youngest was graduating, and I wondered what I would do next. The Lord was very clear that weekend, showing me what I was supposed to do. He said, “Help them tell their stories.” He must have thought I wasn’t getting the message because that weekend was filled with imagery and words to help me understand more clearly. After that, I began to look into how to help others tell their stories through something I already had the skills and knowledge to do — podcasting.

Q: What can we expect this season on Christian Podcasting Secrets? Any series or special guests?

Tammy Munson: I’m super excited about the first season. We will look at launching a podcast, finding your why, overcoming fear, and much more! We’ll even have a surprise guest or two — You’ll have to tune into the show to find out WHO! 😉

Q: What do you want your listeners to know?

Tammy Munson: I want my listeners to know that their voices matter. Each of us has a unique story and perspective that can inspire and uplift others. Don’t be afraid to share your journey and your faith. God has given you a platform for a reason and will guide you through it. Remember, you don’t have to be perfect; you must be willing. Let’s spread our messages like wildfire and touch lives through the power of podcasting.
