This is a short but important episode today!  There have been a lot of updates in the Pod-o-sphere with Spotify, subscriptions, and Instagram retiring the swipe-up feature.  I’ve done the research and got the information directly from the source!

Also, I’ve gotten several questions about the new requirements from Google lately so let’s dive into all of that! So, Let’s tackle the inexperience, fatigue, and intimidation that holds you back from growing your influence and impact.

Listen in to hear about  :

  • Spotify taking over the #1 podcast directory spot from Apple Podcasts!
  • Instagram Swipe Up Feature is being retired and what is taking its place.
  • Google Podcast is making changes as well starting September 21st.

Also, next week’s episode is one you definitely want to tune into! I’m answering a listener’s question. (Thanks Savanna from Birmingham!) Her question is “ why is having a niche podcast so beneficial ?” I can’t wait to chat about that one!

How do I get more podcast reviews?

This is one of the questions I consistently get asked by clients. The purpose behind reviews is simple: humans like to know someone else has tried something first and that they vouch for it. It’s the same reason you scroll down to read the Amazon customer reviews before purchasing a product. It’s all a part of the Know, Like, Trust idea that Melody and I talked about on last week’s show.

Podcast Reviews helps establish your podcast’s reputation, gives you ideas on how to improve your content, and ultimately helps influence people to listen to your show. With so many entertainment options and things vying for our time, a five-star rating is often the clincher that makes a potential listener choose one podcast over thousands of others.

So, let’s tackle the inexperience, fatigue, and inspiration that holds you back from growing your influence and impact.

Listen in to learn more about :

  • Before you start trying to crack the code on asking for reviews, first make sure your podcast has great audion and value-based content.
  • Some strategies to help you get more podcast reviews: ask your most loyal fans include a call to action in each episode, set up a contest, or provide incentives!
  • Consider using a service like Podrover, Podkite, or Rating Catcher, to help you keep track of your reviews all in one place.
  • don’t let them distract you from your main goal: Creating a SOLID podcast. Always remember, 5-star reviews are just the icing on the cake

Hey Friends!

I’m very excited about today’s episode because one of my friends and marketing extraordinaire, Melody Belotte, is on the show today!

In today’s episode, Melody and I discuss all kinds of things, from the glorification of being busy to nerding out on all things marketing, social media, and podcasting. We talk about the importance of knowing who your audience is and figure out the best platform to be using to reach them. She also gives us her best tips when utilizing social media and reveals the #1 reason mistakes people make when it comes to social media.

Melody Belotte is a full-time speaker, writer, strategist and recovering “busy addict” who gives individuals and organizations the tools they need to stop feeling overwhelmed and start spending more time on what matters.

With 15+ years in managing complex businesses, organizations and teams, she founded her own media company to offer live events, group workshops, and personal consulting.  Her clients have been featured on USA Today, Forbes, Fortune, and more, but what makes her smile the most is her inflatable kayak, the Mary Tyler Moore Show, and going on road trips with her family of four.

Make sure to tune in next week when I’m taking a deep dive on getting more podcast reviews for your podcast! Getting reviews is a pivotal part of building your podcast’s reputation and persuading others to listen.

So, let’s tackle the inexperience, fatigue, and intimidation that holds you back from growing your influence and impact.

Tune in for the whole episode to hear us talk about:

  1. Keep things social on social media, don’t just make announcements like you hear in church!
  2. Use other marketing tactics to have deeper conversations.
  3. If social media is like a cocktail party, then email marketing is the dinner party!
  4. The days of the “hard” sell are over, everything is subtle and relationship-based.
