Is Your Podcast Content or a Calling?

As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

Let’s just say it: the podcasting space is loud and getting louder. (As in, “Black Friday at a big-box store” loud.)

AI tools are cranking out robotic scripts, big brands are jumping on the bandwagon, and the charts are crowded with shows that sound like copy/paste versions of each other. It feels like everyone and their neighbor’s dog walker has a show now.

Above all the noise, here’s what I want you to hear: for women like us, podcasting is not just content. It is a calling.

If you are a faith-filled woman behind a mic, you aren’t just adding to the noise or screaming into the void of the internet. You are stewarding something holy.

The Rise of Shallow Shows

Podcasting used to be about connection and intimacy, that sense that someone chose you to speak into their ears while they folded laundry or walked the dog. Thatโ€™s still true, but in addition to that, now we’re seeing a flood of keyword-chasing content with zero heart behind the mic.

More people starting shows? I’m here for it, but not every show is worth listening to.

We don’t need more voices to listen to, and we donโ€™t need more shows to choose from. What we do need are voices that are clear, called, and courageous. As a Christian podcaster, you are uniquely equipped to step into that gap.

Why You Are the Future of This Space

People are tired of polished perfection and AI slop. They are craving what is real: vulnerability over vanity, truth over trends, and hope over hype.

As women of faith, we are already wired for this. We know how to show up with authenticity and share stories that matter. We know how to weave scripture and lived experience together like a patchwork quilt that feels like home.

And yet I see us downplay our voices all the time. “Oh, it’s just a little podcast.”

Can we cut โ€œlittleโ€ from our vocabulary when we are talking about our calling? Friend, if you have a mic in your hand and God put something in your heart, that is not little. That is legacy.

Your Podcast Is a Pulpit

You might be thinking, “Whoa, Tammy โ€” I’m not a preacher.“

I hear you! But whether you’re talking about motherhood, menopause, or marketing, when you show up with a faith-led lens and lead with integrity, you are ministering to your listeners.

That episode on burnout, that story about starting over, that encouragement you offered in a solo episode? Every bit of it is kingdom work.

Stewardship Over Hype

Most podcast advice these days sounds like a hustle checklist: post three times a week, chase viral hashtags, and let AI write your scripts. I love a good system, and I’m obsessed with strategy, but I care more about you stewarding your voice well.

What does good stewardship of your show look like?

It can take different forms in different seasons, but overall, it looks like being consistent and also being rested. It looks like planning your seasons around God’s pace, not hustle culture. Sometimes it means taking breaks without guilt, and saying no to trends that don’t align with your mission.

Jesus never sprinted to the next city. He walked with purpose. You can too.

My Challenge to You

Whether you’re 5 episodes in or 500, stop minimizing your show. Treat it like it matters, because it does.

Invest in your messaging and your production, not for perfection, but for the sake of serving your audience with clarity. Stop comparing yourself to the influencer with a team of twelve and a media studio. Run your race and steward your show.

In 2026, I am leaning hard into this mindset. I want to work with clients who aren’t just chasing downloads โ€” these women want depth. If you feel a tug on your heart to get serious about your show this year, consider this your nudge.

Let’s build something bold, beautiful, and something that outlives an algorithm. Keep showing up, even when it’s quiet. You have an assignment that no one else can fulfill.

You ready? I am. Let’s go light it up.

P.S. If you’re ready to move past the noise and build a show with real substance, I’d love to help you do it! I’m hosting a Podcast Intensive to help you sharpen your message and master your strategy. Spaces are limited because I want to give each of you my full attention.
